Manchee.

I've just been having a little play with pictures this week and here is a first attempt at Manchee. I'm not totally happy with it, so there may be some more tweaking needed. The background is dull and needs some warmth added to it and I'm not sure about the expression. I'm pleased with his ear though :D

His portrait is wonderful!! As if he's breathing... You've painted him with love! Excuse me, I'm not an artist, but maybe you are right about the background - if you change its colour or make this one lighter, Manchee will be the accent!:)

Very good work and yes I want to see it when it's finished, backgrounds are as important as the subject itself that's a fact. Looking out for what you are gonna do with it,x

Thank you for your lovely comments Rossichka and Renilde, you're both right, the background is in need of urgent work :D

Its lovely, Yarrow. Your art is unique and I don't think you need to worry about your background. Its part of the whole spirit of the painting. Its right just the way it is.

There is not pressure to be anyone other than who you are. You are a talented artist with your own style and simple is perfect. You have captured the essence of your subject which many fail to do despite their trying. You also have a special energy in your art and that part of the package.
