The eye of the storm.

Jackie Morris once asked on her blog 'what if we only have a finite amount of words and what happens when we've used them up?'  That's how I feel at the moment, almost like I've run out of words.

I started blogging many years ago to write, because I found comfort in the sharing of words and stories. Unfortunately some of my words and pictures were taken and used without my permission and I shut that blog down. I started the Oakmoon blog purely to showcase my art, but felt that it didn't fully reflect me as a person, so other blogs were started and discarded as I tried to work out how much of my life should be shared and why I would share it at all.  I've made so many friends in the blogging community and miss them when they suddenly stop writing, so maybe some of my friends have missed my occassional posts or rambles. But I worry about who else is reading my words and why they would want to? I guess if I constantly think like that, then I would never write again and I miss the solace of it all.

I feel like I'm still recovering from last year. Bo's broken leg brought me almost to ruin, financially and emotionally and now I'm standing among the half rebuilt pieces of my life wondering who I am. I'm changed, I know that much, but I'm not yet sure who or what is left of me.

Blogging and facebook can be a fun way to connect with family and friends. Sometimes I cringe at how much personal [should be personal!] detail some share. I think there is always the risk that our words, photos, ideas will be 'stolen' by those who are unscrupulous.
The bright side is that seeing what others are making/doing is an inspiration to jump-start our own creativity.
I also find that my blog serves me well as a journal. When I go back to read an older post I instantly recall the deeper feelings and private aspects of the story that I didn't share online.

Dear Kimberley, I definitely miss your posts, photos and wonderful paintings! I started following your blog enchanted by your talent to draw horses! If you stop blogging, I'll miss you a lot, but I hope we could keep in touch via e-mails.:)
These days I realized that the small group of my friends-bloggers has narrowed so much that has almost melted... I guess most of them went to Facebook, but I don't like to "chat", so I don't have a profile... The name of my blog says a lot about me. I also think of it as a journal (like the lady above), a journal with some of the most exciting and memorable events in my life during the last 7 years... Unfortunately there're lots of people just reading, never commenting and/or stealing - ideas, thoughts and what is worse - art...
I wish you more light and joy in your days and soul!xxx
